As we’ve mentioned before, creating videos for your dealership is an effective way to climb the SEO ladder and appear at the top of search engine listings. However, we know creating videos can be an intimidating task. As frequent users of videos, we want to give you some tips when it comes to sharing information through a video camera:

  • Keep it simple. There is no need to waste time shooting footage in different locations, with different outfits, and different people. Choose a spokesperson and seat them in a comfortable location with ample lighting. Simply hook them up to a lavalier microphone and continuously shoot your video. You can edit using your video editing software after the information is gathered.
  • Use text. Utilizing text (even using cool fonts!) will help your video retain viewers. Research has shown that videos that contain text – whether in closed-captioning style or as accompaniment – get more views than videos with a talking head. In addition, you can make a compete video of text with a voice over (see ours on our home page). Keep the text interesting and artistic to keep viewers interested.
  • Make it quick. Think about your Facebook feeds – there are videos dotted everywhere. The most effective videos, however, are no longer than two or three minutes in length. People do not have the time or attention spans to watch lengthy videos, so make it short and get your point across without being too wordy.
