With all that Client ConneXion has to offer – like Chat ConneXion, Response ConneXion, SEO ConneXion, Video SEO, and much more – we can say we know a thing or two about the salesperson/customer relationship. We have spent years and years identifying what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to selling in a dealership, and we want to share our experiences with you. Today, we want to chat about being memorable as a salesperson. In your personal life, what do you want people to remember about you? Do you want them to remember how funny you were, or how much you liked to watch movies? Or maybe how you were easy to have a conversation with? Now think about your salespeople who work at your dealership. What do you want your loyal customers to remember about them? Below, we highlight ways for your salespeople to be positively remembered:

  1. Use the Golden Rule. Encourage your salespeople to instill the notion, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Tell them to put on a customer’s shoes and act as a salesperson they would want to deal with.
  2. Do what you say you’re going to do. Delivering promises is so important in keeping and retaining customers, as following through will instill trust between your salespeople and customers.
  3. Consider the customer, not what’s in their wallet. In order to figure out the best fit for a customer, your salesperson must understand their wants and needs. If your salesperson is only concerned about how much money a customer has (or does not have), a lot of requirements and desires will be missed.
  4. One of the most important ways to make a great sale is to listen to the customer. It seems simple, but many salespeople talk more than they listen, ultimately resulting in a frustrated customer.

During sales training, make sure you encourage your salespeople to adopt the four tips highlighted above. There are many ways to become a memorable salesperson, and this list is a good place to start!
