At Client ConneXion, we specialize in sharing new ways to connect with your customers through the convenience of a computer screen or smart phone. We have spent years and years conducting research and extracting ideas in order to give your dealership the best advice possible. Today – however – we want to give you a few tips to interact and connect with customers on a different level, without sources of technology. Below is a short list of ways to show organic and authentic appreciation to your loyal and treasured customers:

Handwrite a note: This method is perhaps the most personable you can get as a dealership professional. Taking the time to sit down and jot down a quick, but meaningful note to a customer you recently interacted with shows a great deal of effort on your part. Customers will be thrilled to receive this note, as they will feel valued.

Remember the little things: If a customer shares something with you about their personal lives, make an effort to remember it. The next time you see them, be sure to bring up that personal fact. How is your daughter doing? Are you still training for that half-marathon you talked about last month? Showing that you genuinely listened to your customer in areas other than buying a car is a great way to display authenticity.

Include a small gift: Although your customer has just acquired a wonderful gift of purchasing a new vehicle, add in a little something extra. A unique book or journal is a great way to create a relationship with that customer by providing them with an item unrelated to the auto industry. Whenever they look at or use that item, they will always think of your dealership.

Give back for every purchase: There are many brands that strive to give to charity for every item purchased from their store, so why not do the same? For example, take a month out of the year and commit to donating something to a charity for each vehicle purchased during that particular month. Operate in the same way that TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a third-world country every time you buy a pair for yourself, or how eye wear companies donate reading glasses to those in need every time you buy a pair of sunglasses.

The list above contains just a few ways that your dealership can show customer appreciation year-round. Invest in your customers, as they are the ones who make your dealership succeed year in and year out.
