Since we work alongside so many highly professional and successful companies, we want to share an idea: <strong>working <em>with <\/em>a dealership, rather than working <em>for <\/em>a dealership<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This idea \u2013 working with versus working for \u2013 can be applied to any person who has a job. Anyone from a salesperson working diligently to sell vehicles to an auto mechanic working hard to fix car troubles can learn from this valuable lesson that we have been taught.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working For<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is so easy in casual conversation to mention that you work <em>for <\/em>a company. <em>I work <\/em>for<em> so-and-so. I did a project <\/em>for<em> so-and-so. <\/em>This type of language encourages the notion that you are essentially \u201cowned\u201d by your company, oftentimes creating a false sense of worthlessness. This type of \u201cworking for\u201d relationship leads to only one idea: you are in a position of obligation, not partnership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working With<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working <em>with <\/em>a company, on the other hand, encourages <strong>partnership<\/strong> over <strong>obligation<\/strong>. The worthlessness is erased, and you act as an integral piece of your company\u2019s puzzle. Instead of completing a task based on a\u00a0requirement from\u00a0your upper level management, you complete a task alongside them. The \u201cworking with\u201d mentality gives companies and their employees\/consultants peer-oriented rapport, creating a\u00a0symbiotic relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, whether you\u2019re partnering with a company \u2013 as we often do at Client ConneXion \u2013 or serving a company as a valued employee, remembering to keep the \u201cworking with\u201d mindset will encourage\u00a0an advantageous connection on both ends of the spectrum.
